BELLA VISTA

Interior design project for a villa in Benicasim.
In 2005, the award-winning architecture firm Ripoll y Tizón embarked on a project involving four single-family homes atop a hill in Benicasim. Situated on a privileged plot with views of both the sea and the mountains, the architects seamlessly integrated these four houses into the existing irregular topography. Nearly 20 years later, we have taken the baton to update one of these homes to meet modern family needs.
The commission represents both a responsibility and a great creative stimulus. It involves carrying out a conscious and respectful intervention to preserve the original features of the house and enhance its strengths. In this specific case, the pronounced plastic and architectural component of the dwelling demands enhancing spatial functionality and adapting the layout to a family lifestyle. Consequently, through meticulous carpentry work, a custom-made solution is designed and executed to address the needs raised by the owners.
Furthermore, the palette of off-whites, bluish grays, and grayish greens establishes a harmonious dialogue, seamlessly merging the intervention with the original design. This play of colors, utilizing a restrained palette, creates an evocative atmosphere and firmly grounds the dwelling within its surroundings. The intention to integrate it with the natural landscape that envelops it shapes the approach of the other interventions, paying homage to the 1950s Case Study Houses
